Kwantlen Polytechnic University is currently accepting applications for the position of Manager, Emergency Planning.
 
The Manager, Emergency Planning is responsible for ensuring that all University campuses are prepared for any emergency or disaster and that the institution is ready to manage and mitigate risk to the University community and its property.  S/he is responsible for the direction, supervision and coordination related to the development, implementation and ongoing support of emergency management plans, program and activities at the University.  This encompasses planning, preparedness, and mitigation response as well as participation in activities related to recovery and business continuity.  Duties include conducting emergency response exercises; developing and delivering training sessions in emergency preparedness; interacting with internal and external stakeholders; and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
 
Minimum qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or other related designation would be considered an asset.  A minimum of five years related emergency planning and preparedness experience including leadership responsibilities for emergency planning, preferably in an educational, municipal, health or consulting environment is also required.
