SENECA COLLEGE OF APPLIED ARTS & TECHNOLOGY Markham, Ontario, CANADA 1 Position, Posted Feb 12, 2010 Emergency Planning Coordinator - F/T Contract Opportunity Employee Health, Success and Continuity - Markham Campus Reporting to the Director, Employee Health, Success and Continuity, the incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support the College's Emergency Response Plan and related activities in order to ensure a safe learning/working environment and mitigate risk. This includes development and implementation of procedures such as, but not limited to lockdown, shelter-in-place, bomb threat, fire evacuation, hazardous waste spill, utility failures. The incumbent will assess the workplace to identify areas which have the potential for the occurrence of workplace violence in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario. The incumbent will work closely with members of Security Services, Facilities Management and the Resolution, Equity and Diversity Centre in order to ensure college-wide policies and procedures are incorporated effectively into departmental policies and procedures. The incumbent will build and maintain collaborative relationships with members of external emergency management, such as Police, Fire and Ambulance to ensure that the necessary working relationships have been established and maintained in order to ensure a coordinated and effective response to emergency events.
