Hundreds feared dead in Ugandan mudslide

A Landslide has hit eastern Uganda, killing at least 80 people and leaving hundreds missing, the country’s Red Cross has said. The overnight landslide buried homes in three villages in the mountainous district of Bududa, where torrential rain has been falling for several weeks. READ MORE

The Guardian, 2 March 2010 An evacuation of the surrounding area has been ordered as heavy rains continue. David Wakikona, minister for northern Uganda, who has visited the area, reported seeing villagers scrambling through the mud and rocks looking for survivors.
